It has to be said that when I visited Spain in 2001, I thought at first Spain did not even have any stained glass studios functioning. After a good search I found a few Tiffany style lamps.
In every case the shop keepers were quite certain that the shades were made in Spain. I think that there may be a big studio in Barcelona. It is certainly producing designs that I have seen nowhere else.
This has to be one of the most stunning lamps I have ever seen. I found
it in a gift shop in Nerja. The shade was actually being displayed on
a different base. It was priced at £165 which I thought was a very
reasonable amount.
This one on the right was another stunner found in Frigiliana in an unusual gift shop.
(Unusual because it did not stock everything to be found elsewhere.)
The shade was made with a lumpy orange/amber opaque glass randomly set in a perfect
ball shape with a most unusual bottom edge design. STUNNING!
I liked what I found!
