LAVA & CUBE LANTERNS by Jill WIlliams

It is really nice to see some new ideas for those who like making lamps. These Lava and Cube lamps lend themselves to hallways or nooks and crannies. An Arts and Crafts influence has led to the good use of beads, blobs, shells & gaps in the glass to make these lamps exciting.

There are full and clear instructions for their construction. Wiring should be carried out by a competent electrician in accordance with British regulations.

TIME for GLASS by Lynne Rae Eaton

There are eleven designs in this book, and each is duplicated for either stained or fused glass techniques.
These are not your usual fayre, so lend themselves to the making of something different or unusual.
Most of the variety is in the look of the clocks, but there are also some way out pendulum ideas which we like.
As with the new lanterns book above, some good new ideas, and I would not be afraid to take ideas accross the two books.

LOTSA LAMPS by Plum Gully

This book has been on the market for a while, but deserves a look at this time of the year when students start to get a little more adventurous.

There are 26 designs ranging from Intermediate to easy. Most are for panel lamps but there are also a few fans.

Only a few colour photographs are on the cover.

There is an EXCELLENT TEDDY BEAR design, and I was also impressed by the Mother Goose fan lamp.
